Frequently Asked Questions

Straightforward answers about home EV charging, installation, panels, permits, and what to expect when you request an installation.

Level 1 charging uses a standard 120-volt household outlet and the portable cord that often comes with an EV. It is slow but needs no new wiring. Level 2 charging uses a 240-volt circuit — the same kind used by an oven or dryer — and a dedicated wall charger, which can replenish meaningfully more range per hour depending on the vehicle and charger.
